Be True
Baseball has entered the post-season (too bad about those Giants) and to celebrate the impending playoffs, I’m releasing a new single – Be True.
This is a song I wrote at Troubadour Camp and the first verse goes:
There’s a baseball boy
He’s got a baseball glove
He’s off in right field
Waiting for his time to shine
There’s a high fly ball
That one might be gone!
He’s running fast
He shouts out loud “That’s mine!”
Pretty much sums up my personal Little League experience. It goes on with a sing-along chorus and three more verses – all true.
LISTEN HERE NOW! Listen everywhere else November 6.
On this studio recording John Girton delivers a sterling call-and-response guitar part while Alice Howe does an amazing call-and-response emulation of the Andrew Sisters. What more could you want?! (When Alice heard the playback she said, “That’s so sweet it makes my teeth hurt.”)
This is single number 9 of my upcoming album PeterWilsonWorld. Collect the whole set!
